AES manufactures a variety of pressed pellets. These pellets are predominantly for use as explosive boosters for military demolition, oil well and mining applications. The pellets are manufactured using several types of tooling and pressing techniques. AES currently has three Stokes R-4 pellet presses. Each press is capable of producing up to 20,000 explosive pellets in a single shift. AES also has four-post and two-post hydraulic presses which are capable of 350 cycles/shift. This equates to a capability of several thousand pellets per shift depending on the press density requirement for the final product. Some of the Mil-Spec explosive commonly pressed at AES include C-4, A-3, PBXN-5, TNT, Pentolite and CH-6.
